Google fights Bush administration to keep search records private in porn probe

The Bush administration, seeking to revive an online pornography law struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court, has subpoenaed Google for details on what its users have been looking for through its popular search
engine. The Bush administration is asking a federal judge to order Google to turn over material from its closely guardeddatabases as part of a government effort to revive an Internet child protection law. Google says the request is"overreaching" and will fight the government's effort "vigorously."
